Toyota Camry commercial taps Roxette’s “The Look”

 When you think of a driving brand new car, you might tend to think of Roxette’s #1 hit “Joyride” as a logical accompaniment. C’mon — ‘fess up.

Who among us Roxette fans hasn’t rolled down the windows on a bright June afternoon day and zoomed down the highway with “Joyride” playing?

Toyota went in another direction with its new U.S. ad campaign for its 2018 Camry promotions. The Japanese automaker’s advertising agencies, Saatchi & Saatchi and iCrossing, selected another of the Swedish duo’s chart toppers: “The Look.” The commercial starts off with a woman hitting “shutdown” on her office computer. Her attitude immediately changes and her anthem, “The Look,” begins playing. She struts confidently out to her 2018 Toyota Camry, starts playing the track, and cranks the volume up. Her wide smile as she powers through curves and turns and says “she’s got the look.”

The version of “The Look” used in the commercial is a stripped down version of the 1989 track from the Look Sharp! album. You can check out the commercial below.
