Per does Leif’s – again
TYLÖSAND – Per’s tradition of having “secret” gigs before a tour still goes strong.
Last night at Leif’s Lounge – the night club at Per’s own Hotel Tylösand in Halmstad – Per gave another of his “secret” gigs. This time the tickets were even sold online so the secret tradition is slowly dying I guess. The gig was sold out, around 500 tickets were sold, plus invited guests. The place was jam-packed! It was in fact so full that it was hard taking photos…

“It Must Have Been Love” was seen on the set list by Per’s feet, but was crossed out. Per presented his all “new” band, and introduced the new drummer Andreas Quincy Dahlbäck, new guitarist/slide guitarist Ola Gustafsson (“with a borrowed Rickenbacker”) and fiddler Malin-My Wall. He said they’d never played live together, before an audience, so “bear with us.” They did fine. Better than fine. It was a pre-tour gig and no one expected anything else. The band was in top shape, the new drummer Andreas can certainly keep the beat and Ola filled in nicely on both regular and steel guitars while Malin-My played the fiddle like an angel looking really nervous.
Per was unfortunately not available for an interview last night, but he said that he’d be happy to set one up for later. TDR talked to Clarence after the gig and he was happy with the whole thing and so were both Christoffer and Magnus.
As per usual the gig was too short, but as you can see very energetic. Leif’s is not really the best place for live music as it’s a night club, a disco. So most people saw Per’s hair and heard the songs, but seemed very happy in spite of that.
