The Per Gessle Archives – A Lifetime of Songwriting

For over 35 years Per Gessle’s songwriting has fascinated fans both in Sweden and around the world. To summon up his incredible career as a songwriter and artist The Per Gessle Archives – A Lifetime of Songwriting is set for release this fall through Cosmos Music.

A total of eleven volumes with close to 200 songs from Per’s own archives of mostly unreleased material will be released throughout the year ending with an exclusive box-set in September.

Through the extensive contents of the box, we’ll get an exclusive view of Gessle’s composing skills and style; a unique release from an artist and songwriter of Per’s status.

The release will focus on three different parts of his career:

Demos & Other Fun Stuff consists of previously unreleased material from Per’s first band Gyllene Tider, Roxette-demos that turned into something else as well as side-projects that he has worked on over the years.

The Roxette Demos – Per’s early versions of the duo’s many hits and popular album tracks. An insight into the foundation of Roxette’s magnificent history, which to date has generated over 75 million albums sold.

Solo – Per’s two highly successful Swedish solo albums, Mazarin and En händig man, are represented by two independent volumes with the demos that formed the basis for these chart topping albums.

Per will also comment on each individual song in interviews with Sven Lindström for the digital edition of the collection.

Just in time for the Swedish Record Store Day on April 26th there will be a limited edition 7” vinyl with two songs available in stores. The two first volumes will be available exclusively on Spotify in May.

On September 24th the campaign for The Per Gessle Archives – A Lifetime of Songwriting will culminate with the release of a deluxe box that will contain all eleven volumes in an exclusive package with vinyls and CDs.

Cosmos Music is extremely proud to present this special release with one of the modern pop era’s most influential and successful songwriters/artists.

This fall will also see two books with Per’s songs published, one with the English lyrics and one with the Swedish ones, together with handwritten sketches and drafts, comments and interviews with Per about his songwriting.
