Remembrance book for Marie Fredriksson

Dear fellow friends, dear fans of Marie Fredriksson, dear Roxette fans, dear kind people in this world,

our friend Marie has passed away on December 9, and many, many people in the world are heartbroken and would like to express their feelings. Not everyone can do so on the social media, not everyone can do so by coming to Sweden and signing the official remembrance book laid out in Stockholm.

We want to collect your thoughts, your grieve, but also your finest memories with Marie here. Please write down what you always wanted to say to her, we will collect each single entry of yours, put them into one single book and send it over to Marie’s family to show them how much she made this world better through you.

Thank you.

[All entries made before January 1, 2020 were taken over for the book. You will still be able to add your messages now but we cannot consider them for the book to Marie’s family anymore as it has been printed by now.]

The Daily Roxette had one copy of the book printed early January 2020 and handed it over to Marie Dimberg, Roxette’s manager and a very good friend of Marie Fredriksson and her family, in Göteborg on January 20, 2020. The printed version of the book is nearly 800 pages thick and it has a white cover. Its title “Tack för allt Marie” (Thank you for everything Marie) is written in silver and red letters on its sleeve.
Here you see some quick photos of the book, sadly there has never been a chance to take proper photos of this one copy as it arrived just before the evening we headed to Göteborg for the “En kväll för Marie Fredriksson” show.

If you are interested, you can download a simplified version (the printed version contains a few more blank pages to separate the chapters, for instance) of the book with all entries right here.
The entries are sorted alphabetically by names, this file is also searchable.
Entries with non-latin character sets are at the very end of the book. Most URLs have been removed as they make little sense in a printed book.

I will always remember how much emotion and sincerity with which she always sang. There always was a certain magic she brought to each and every song and although I never actually met her in person I remember thinking that her loving, friendly and genuine nature came out through her performances. I saw Roxette perform twice in Sydney. Once before her terrible illness and then again when she had been diagnosed and both times it was wonderful and a privilege to see her as she gave her performances all she could and the magic was there both times. Roxette's music has always been a big part of my life because of Marie and Per's talent and the magic they bring to a song and will forever be in my heart as will Marie and my heart goes out to all that loved her but especially her family and to Per who all must miss her more than terribly but I know as long as I am around I shall certainly always remember and miss her not only for her beautiful voice but her beautiful presence and personality that always seemed to shine through.

Dear friends, today I'd like to share with you a story about Marie's kindness. A story full of magic, b/c magic is what Marie has always been to me:) Back in 1993 when Josefin was born I couldn't contain my joy and the then 13 year-old me living in Romania wrote a letter to congratulate Marie (with the help of a younger cousin b/c I couldn't write a single word in English, but we had a dictionary lol). I confidently wrote the destination "Marie Fredriksson (Roxette), Halmstadt, Sweden". Blessed be the mail person(s) who delivered my letter to Marie!!! One year later, when I came back home from my first day in high-school I found an envelope from Sweden and inside ... magic: a portrait of Marie with the writing "To Alina" and her autograph. Needless to mention that day was the start of 4 wonderful high-school years, no teeage drama, just pure joy. On 30th May 2011 I was beyond happy to attend Roxette's gig in Bucharest with my whole family in front rows and sing Happy Birthday to Marie. Just more magic from Marie (and Per) to us. THANK YOU Marie for teaching me about authenticity, joy, and kindness! I've had quite a joyride so far:)

Thank you for these beautiful songs. You are the sound of the 90s, and I and probably many others will enjoy your music as long as we may live. Sadly, Marie had to pass by so early, but her music is forever.

About Marie! Unbelievable! Marie is part of my story, my youth. Reading his Autobiography made me even more emotional. Reading her Autobiography it was revealed to me the person she was, the woman I always knew she was: determined and generous. We lost a unique voice in pop music! May your example be an inspiration to all of us! Singer, Artist, Woman, Wife, Mother! With love and respect for good! Always Marie! My fraternal hug and affection to her children and husband! And to the entire Roxette Team: in the person of Per Glesse = You said it right "Things will never be the same! But the Show must Go on!" Love Ronneo Lucio

Thank you Marie for all the emotions you gave to me with yr incredible voice. Listening yr songs with closed eyes, it's like to make a time travel, when I was teenager and I did it with the walkman, or with the radio. From 1988 until now yr songs have been part of my life. Every time I play “listen to your heart” I get the goose bumps, the song has a special meening to me. G*d bless you Marie, yr voice will be always with us. 4ever Roxette, with love

I grew up listening to the music of Roxette, always enjoying the anthemic tunes, stunning music videos and of course the unmistakably brilliant voice of Marie. I grow more in love with this music over the years, always drawn back to the classics and the new tunes, discovering and re-discovering Roxette has been a great personal joy, the quality is so strong. Thank you Per for your music. Thank you Marie for your magic. I don’t want to be sad simply celebrate your contributions. I am proud this music is part of the soundtrack to my own life, helping, soothing and inspiring me to strive. 🎤🎸❤️‍🔥 🙏

Aquell dia us vaig descobrir i em vau captivar fins ara. Petonsss!!

Marie will live forever in my heart! I remember the first time I listened in the radio the songs "Spending my time" and "Listen to your heart" in that little town Iturbe hidden in Paraguay, and with those songs I just decided to learn English, and since there Roxette has been my favorite band. There's no a day that I don't listen at least one song to remember her.

Marie querida, cuanta falta hace en el mundo tu voz y tu música. Fuiste la mejor junto a Per, es una banda que vivirá por siempre en mi corazón y que me evoca los mejores recuerdos de mi juventud. Roxette por siempre.

Had the great pleasure of seeing you in 2012 in Montreal. Though you were frail, you shone like the sun. May your soul now be blessed as your songs blessed the life of so many. May you know abundance and love. may you know no limits now. No pain, no worry. May ease be with you. May angels surround you , and may your incredible smile continue to touch souls as rays of the sun. Bless you Marie. Always.

Un Roxettero que te llevara siempre The Centre Of The Heart ya que tu eres y seras mi Queen of rain.

From the first time I heard The Look I became a Roxette fan for life, l had the pleasure of seeing them perform in Nashville Tennessee on their acoustic tour back in 2001 my wife and II were in the front of the stage and there they were Per & Marie right in front of us ,it was one of the greatest nights of my life at one point Marie looked down and waved right at us that was truly magical. When I found out about Maries sickness it broke my heart after everything she went through she still gave all she could such an amazing person an inspiration.. you will always be missed and you will never be forgotten thanx for all the wonderful music & memories.
