Remembrance book for Marie Fredriksson

Dear fellow friends, dear fans of Marie Fredriksson, dear Roxette fans, dear kind people in this world,

our friend Marie has passed away on December 9, and many, many people in the world are heartbroken and would like to express their feelings. Not everyone can do so on the social media, not everyone can do so by coming to Sweden and signing the official remembrance book laid out in Stockholm.

We want to collect your thoughts, your grieve, but also your finest memories with Marie here. Please write down what you always wanted to say to her, we will collect each single entry of yours, put them into one single book and send it over to Marie’s family to show them how much she made this world better through you.

Thank you.

[All entries made before January 1, 2020 were taken over for the book. You will still be able to add your messages now but we cannot consider them for the book to Marie’s family anymore as it has been printed by now.]

The Daily Roxette had one copy of the book printed early January 2020 and handed it over to Marie Dimberg, Roxette’s manager and a very good friend of Marie Fredriksson and her family, in Göteborg on January 20, 2020. The printed version of the book is nearly 800 pages thick and it has a white cover. Its title “Tack för allt Marie” (Thank you for everything Marie) is written in silver and red letters on its sleeve.
Here you see some quick photos of the book, sadly there has never been a chance to take proper photos of this one copy as it arrived just before the evening we headed to Göteborg for the “En kväll för Marie Fredriksson” show.

If you are interested, you can download a simplified version (the printed version contains a few more blank pages to separate the chapters, for instance) of the book with all entries right here.
The entries are sorted alphabetically by names, this file is also searchable.
Entries with non-latin character sets are at the very end of the book. Most URLs have been removed as they make little sense in a printed book.

It took a long time to relief the pain of grief after you died. But please notice that it's getting better and better. It must have been love is chiseled into my heart for decades after my favorite girl of my live 30 years back in time played it from vinyl to tell me that I have to forget about loving her. It never worked out. I can let run tears every time I hear this song - every single drop is for you now, Marie, not for her anymore. There's just one other song amongs millions which floods my eyes: The last unicorn. You must have been my last unicorn, Marie. Every drop's for you in heaven. Per just said on TV there will be never a replacement for you. I fully agree.

GOD Bless you Marie!!! What an incredible voice you had. We still have your voice from the many songs you left behind with Per Gessle, as well as your own music but sadly the world lost a very talented lady. I loved Roxette's music as a teenager and I still love love it 40 years later. I loved The Look, Listen to your heart, Dressed for Success, Joyride just to name a few favorites. There are plenty more!!!! It was so wonderful to see you return to Roxette in 2012 or 2013, in Amsterdam, I think. What a treat it was to have one of our favorite bands back. .Thank you, Marie and Per for giving us Roxette GOD Bless over you and your families. May you rest in peace, Marie Fredriksson. We will miss you... Christina

Dear Roxette; I lost and found myself listening to your songs day and night from the window of my lonely bedroom. You gave me all the solitude, love, care and attention no one else bothered to give to me. You ARE and WILL FOREVER live in MY HEART <3

My entry comes so late, basically because a few days ago I heard "It must have been love" at the radio, and suddenly I was hit by all the memories of my teen years. Marie, your voice was the voice of most of my emotions, my feelings, my thoughts that I was not able to speak about. Your body has passed away since almost 2 years but your voice will last forever in my soul. Thank you Marie, thank you Roxette.

About a year ago I found myself singing a bit of the song "Dressed for Success." I hadn't heard the song in years, and proceeded to watch it many times on Youtube. Since then, I've watched and listened to most of Roxette's great songs, which I grew up listening to. I was very sad to find out about Marie's passing. She had incredible gifts - not only her amazing voice, but her energy, passion, and stage presence shine through as well. A true star, and will continue to shine.

In Liebe Tamara
