Next Stop: South Africa as XXX re-launches in 2016

With the Silly Season behind us all, it won’t be long before Roxette re-ignite their mammoth XXX World Tour.

South Africa just can’t seem to get enough of Roxette. During the band’s hugely successful Charm School Tour, Roxette stopped by South Africa in May 2011 to perform a total seven concerts in the African nation. Such was the intense demand for Roxette, that the band returned a little over twelve months later to perform an additional three shows… during the same Charm School 2011/12 Tour!

The love affair between South Africa and Roxette dates all the way back to the 1994/95 Crash! Boom! Bang! World Tour where Roxette made their first ever visit to the country. A memorable performance at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg in front of 52,000 fans was recorded and released on the VHS and Laser Disc special “Crash! Boom! Live!’

And now, it’s time for Roxette and their army of Roxers to get back to business as the XXX Anniversary Tour kicks back into action after a brief pause following their European leg that finished up at the end of the 2015 European Summer.

TicketProDomeRoxette will take to the stage at the sold out Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg on the 31st of January (pictured). The band then moves on to Durban, Port Elizabeth before two shows in Cape Town at the Grand Arena Grand West, the first of which is sold out!

Supporting Roxette throughout the South African Tour will be local act “Watershed”. More information about the band can be found on the official Watershed Facebook page.

For a trip back in time (and back to South Africa), here’s a classic performance of “The Rain” from their 1995 Johannesburg show.
