“I try not to analyze…”

‘Milk and Toast and Honey‘ was the third and final official single released from the ‘Room Service‘ album in September 2001.

Unlike the previous singles, this was actually released in the UK (peaking at #89). The single performed well elsewhere, predominately in Europe. Indeed, the song remains amongst their most streamed singles, and as such was included as an extra track on the 30th Anniversary re-issues of their 1995 Greatest Hits album, ‘Don’t Bore Us – Get To The Chorus!‘. The inclusion of course divided opinions amongst fans whether it truly belonged on the releases, but we got over it.

It’s a nice enough song, and the accompanying video directed again by Jesper Hiro, and produced by Martina Stöhr is beautiful. We find Marie and Per in and around a small country house by the sea. Despite not being overly fond of the song itself, I love the video.

Various remixes were commissioned which were great to hear. We got to hear live performances as part of the ‘Room Service Tour‘, then again during the most recent ‘Roxette Live‘ Tour in 2025/2026.
