“Close your eyes, don’t tell a soul…”

‘Entering Your Heart‘ was first heard as the b-side to lead ‘Room Service‘ single, ‘The Centre of the Heart‘.

It’s immediate ear-candy, with the lush production and vocal delivery. It’s such a shame it didn’t make the album over some of the more filler tracks like ‘Try‘ or ‘Brining My Down To My Knees‘, but that of course is subjective and personal opinion.

Regardless of not making the album, it was officially released as a b-side, in edit form, then we got to heart the original full version as part of the ‘Bag of Trix‘ compilations in 2020…

“Actually one of my favourite tracks of the ones we recorded, I don’t know why it didn’t become one of those songs on the album, probably because we wanted the album to be short… We did an edit version of this recording and used it as a b-side for a single. The version on the ‘Bag of Trix‘ is the original version with the original number of verses… It’s a beautiful track and Marie sings beautifully… All these synthesisers that Clarence created are really warm and I love this kind of production…”

It’s one of our favourites too, especially the original version, hence its inclusion here on the #ROX40 Countdown.

We’re yet to hear a demo, or indeed demos of the song, so hopefully we’ll get to hear one or more as part of the upcoming confirmed ‘Room Service 25th Anniversary‘ releases.
