Marie: “I have lost many years”
In an article published by Expressen today details of Marie Fredriksson’s new autobiography “Kärleken till livet” – Love for Life are released and we get to learn a little bit more about what we can expect. In the book, Marie talks about the support from her husband Micke and children, but also a
Another quote from the article about Marie Fredriksson in the Vi magazine. The issue featuring her story is out today.
“She can also talk about everything she learned to take advantage of, appreciate. As present, the calm. To follow the seasons, waiting for the first spring nightingales, take the power of the linden tree that grows outside the house.” And Marie says: “Rather the linden tree than Facebook. For fuck’s sake.”
/K.
Wonderful, but terribly touching article about #MarieFredriksson’s book in Expressen. Marie tells about her illness and the effects of it, Micke and his support and how they got over those tough times, how they talked about her own funeral and how Micke prepared her for death, meetings with famous artists, why they didn’t invite Per and Åsa to their wedding in the ’90s, Roxette world tours and how she feels nowadays and what the problem is with her leg, etc. Oj. This book will be tough to read for all of us, but I think one can’t imagine how tough it was for Marie to tell her story and more than that, to get over those terrible years. Not just for her, but for her family as well. <3 /PP Read the complete article here: http://www.expressen.se/noje/artisten-jag-har-forlorat-manga-ar/ Some quotes from her from the book: "To meet Micke was to come home, after all the years of searching." "I have become much more afraid to move out on my own. It's tragic. I don't even go out into the garden myself anymore. I need someone to hold, even for short distances. This spring, if it's hot, I would like to go out and sit for a while and enjoy the sun. I like the warmth so much." "Finally, it feels like I have resigned myself to the fact that I have a radiation damage to live with. That this is what it is. I've lost many years because of the disease. Furthermore, it's sad to grow old. But every day I think how thankful I am for sitting here. And that I can still sing."
Greetings from the Aerosol Spaceship. Two days (and nights) of newborn Rox-music on the table. Smells good. /P.
“Bullen” is gone. So sad. He was such a great guy, easy-going and one of the best lighting designers and operators in the business. Many of you have probably seen his work during so many Rox/Marie/Per/Gyllene Tider-tours in the 80’s and 90’s. He will be truly missed. All our thoughts go to his family in this difficult time. /P&M
Memory Lane Monday: You might remember the #Roxette pic Per shared 3 days ago stating it was taken at the old EMI Studios. The photographer of the pic, Lars-Göran Rydqvist commented under the photo that it was taken during a Pearls of Passion promo appearance at a record store called Megahertz in Växjö, in 1986. He also shared another picture with us from that very same place on the very same day. Here it is. /PP

Nice article about the #MarieFredriksson interview in Vi magazine and Marie’s biography. Gosh, it’s incredibly emotional. <3 /PP Link to the article: http://www.dn.se/dnbok/marie-fredriksson-talar-oppet-om-cancern-i-ny-biografi/ MF: "Sitting there at my kitchen table and talking about everything hard in life from my childhood to cancer ... I cried so much ... it was so very difficult." MF: "There were so many who didn't think I could do it. Even the doctors. But I knew within myself that I could do it. Even during those years when I couldn't speak and I was completely isolated. I remember how Micke and the children talked to each other when the whole family were sitting and eating dinner. I could not utter a word. It was horrible. Yet I knew all the time that I could do it."
Picture taken at the old EMI Studios in Skärmarbrink, Stockholm South back in 1986 I guess. Feels like yesterday. Marie stole my black nail polish. /P.
Good evening, my sun! Let me ask you about this pic, which I really like. What, where and when was that? Very soulful depth look. With B.Love / E.
