The Daily Roxette presents ROX40
The Look ’95
Wrapping up the ‘Don’t Bore Us…’ era with a remix of a familiar song that first kicked-off the international success… 1, 2, 3, 4…
‘Don’t Bore Us – Get To The Look ’95!’

‘The Look‘ was remixed and released exclusively as a single in the UK to promote ‘Don’t Bore Us – Get To The Chorus!‘, however it never featured on the actual Greatest Hits in it’s new remixed form.
Remixed by British Production and Remix Duo Chaps, as well as other mixes done by Italian duo, the Rapino Brothers.
Who are Chaps?
Chaps was an alias used by British hitmaker Phil Harding and his studio partner Ian Curnow. Harding was a Chief Engineer and Producer at the PWL Hit Factory Studios in London.
Responsible for massive hits for acts like Kylie Minogue, Rick Astley, Bananarama and the Pet Shop Boys to name but a few.
Harding and Curnow left PWL in 1992 and set-up their own company and adopted their Chaps moniker to create club-focussed remixes.
Who are the Rapino Brothers?
The Rapino Brothers are the Italian-born Production and Songwriting duo Charlie Mallozzi and Marco Sabiu. Both coming from the electronic music hub of Bologna, Italy, they combined Sabiu’s classical music training with Mallozzi’s chaotic background in avant-garde jazz and of all things, thrash metal.
The duo relocated to London in the early nineties and established themselves as Eurodance pros. You will know them through their work on Take That’s ‘Could It Be Magic‘, and album ‘Everything Changes‘, as well as Corona’s ‘Rhythm of the Night‘, Haddaway’s ‘What Is Love?‘, as well as writing hits for both Kylie Minogue and Dannii Minogue.
The Single
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t too sure about the remixes when I first heard them way way back in 1995, but they’re certainly growers and have stood the test of time as remixes go. They’re pretty damn cool.
The single was another hit, reaching the UK Top 40 Chart peaking at #28. We got a 2 Part CD Single and a Cassette too, alongside a promo 12″ Vinyl that’s a great collectors item for those interested.

For those outside of the UK, you had to wait until 1996 to hear some of the remixes (officially) included on the ‘She Doesn’t Live Here Anymore‘ single release, which was limited to certain regions. Some years later, several of the remixes were finally released as part of the ‘ROXRMX‘ collection, alas, not all of them. Several remain missing from streaming as we write this.
What do you think? Was ‘The Look’95‘ a good remix, or like us, do you prefer the original mixes?
