Dance Passion Re-Remixed by Bassflow in 2015

Acclaimed Swedish producer Peter “Bassflow” Boström has once again joined forces with Roxette and will remix the 1987 album Dance Passion to be released on the 5th of June 2015 under the new title Dance Passion 2015. Edit: Well, this was posted April 1 so maybe it’s not entirely truthful after all…

Folks, this is one of our infamous April Fools pranks. Every year on April 1, we're trying to come up with an incredible story that sounds too good to be true and in fact it never really is. Hope you enjoy this little joke of ours. Here's a list of almost all our pranks so far. Thanks!

Having already collaborated with Roxette, remaking Charm School’s “Speak to Me” and 1991 B-Side “The Sweet Hello, The Sad Goodbye”, the producer promises a fresh and modern sound to the overlooked 1987 Roxette release.

An excited Per Gessle says it’s a chance to right a wrong from the past “…The original Dance Passion project isn’t exactly a highlight in the mighty Roxette back catalog, so this is a chance to go back and give the album the proper treatment it deserves… I didn’t like it back then, however I started listening to it a lot during the Oz tour and felt that the remixes weren’t that terrible, is there something that can be done to make them even better?

When it came to deciding which producer would take on such a project, Gessle explains that the choice was an obvious one “We love Peter and the fab work he did on a couple of Roxette ballads, he was definitely the guy for the job!

And what can Roxette fans expect from the new Dance Passion 2015? Per describes the album as “…a splendid explosion of sounds for your listening pleasure! The whole album sounds totally different to the original, I’m sure the Roxers out there will love it; custom made for hungry ears! Peter has gone back to the original masters and remixed from there”.

The album is set to be a true collector’s item with only 200 copies set to be pressed and released on a clear 12” vinyl. Per explains “We’re only making 200 copies available to give this whole project a real exclusive feel”. For those not lucky enough to secure a physical copy; a full digital iTunes release will be made available in June all around the world.

“Like Lovers Do” has been selected as the album’s only single and will be serviced to radio as a digital promo a few weeks before the album’s full release.
