Belo Horizonte warmly embraces Roxette

SÃO PAULO – Roxette is back in São Paulo for their second sold-out concert date here tonight, again at Credicard Hall. But on Sunday night, Roxette was in Belo Horizonte, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais.

Fans in Brazil had been telling this reporter since the tour arrived in Brazil that this concert would be special, because of the warmth of the people who live in this state, and sure enough, after the concert, Per tweeted “Great gig in Belo Horizonte! Superb crowd, unbelievable voices!! Could your [hear] them in Europe?”

In the variable position on the otherwise consistent setlist, “Silver Blue” was performed.

At the end of the band member’s introductions, Christoffer Lundquist played “Oh, Minas Gerais,” an appropriated Italian waltz melody that with lyrics added, became the unofficial state song. As you can see for yourself, the crowd (and Per who is getting a kick out of this as well) of course loved it!
