Roxette sizzles, fight fizzles in Cologne

While Roxette performed “She’s Got Nothing On (But the Radio)” inside a boxing ring in Cologne, Germany yesterday evening, video monitors in the arena showed clips of vintage Roxette music videos and theatrical lighting effects added drama. Shown live on RTL, the playback performance went well and the crowd applauded warmly. The fight, however, was another matter.

The bout between heavyweight title holder Vitali Klitschko and Odlanier Solis ended in an anti-climax when the challenger’s right knee collapsed under him only about three minutes into the first round. The referee started counting, but it was immediately clear that Solis was unable to stand up, let alone continue fighting. The crowd began booing, and continued to do for quite some time.
