Stratocaster donated by Per to benefit anti-minefield program

STOCKHOLM - Win a Fender Stratocaster signed by Per Gessle! Yes, it can be yours if you enter this auction to benefit a program called Adopt-A-Minefield. Per has signed and donated the bone-white guitar that is being auctioned on the Internet.

Adopt-A-Minefield is a campaign of the United Nations Association of the USA, which engages individuals, community groups, and businesses in the United Nations effort to resolve the global landmine crisis. The Campaign helps save lives by raising funds for mine clearance and survivor assistance and by raising awareness about the landmine problem.

The site describes the item like this:

"This Fender Stratocaster was signed by Per Hakan Gessle the songwriter and male lead singer of the Swedish bands Gyllene Tider and Roxette.

As of 2004, he has released four solo albums:

  • Self-titled Per Gessle in 1983,
  • Scener in 1986,
  • The World According To Gessle in 1997, and
  • Mazarin in late 2003.

The album 'Mazarin' is 5 times platinum as of February 2004 in Sweden. Only 'The World According To Gessle' is in English, the others are in Swedish. 'Per Gessle' and 'Scener' were re-released together with a demo album in 1992 as 'På Väg.' In 1997 'Hjärtats Trakt' was released, a best-of album.

Per Gessle is releasing a new English album on November 23rd 2005 in Sweden called 'Son Of A Plumber' (yes his father was a plumber!) On the album are some great musicans such as Clarence Öfwerman, Christoffer Lundquist, Helena Josefsson and Jens Jansson partake. The album contains all of Gessle musical heritage. Per expects to release the album outside of Sweden in early 2007."
