Remembrance book for Marie Fredriksson

Dear fellow friends, dear fans of Marie Fredriksson, dear Roxette fans, dear kind people in this world,

our friend Marie has passed away on December 9, and many, many people in the world are heartbroken and would like to express their feelings. Not everyone can do so on the social media, not everyone can do so by coming to Sweden and signing the official remembrance book laid out in Stockholm.

We want to collect your thoughts, your grieve, but also your finest memories with Marie here. Please write down what you always wanted to say to her, we will collect each single entry of yours, put them into one single book and send it over to Marie’s family to show them how much she made this world better through you.

[All entries made before January 1, 2020 were taken over for the book. You will still be able to add your messages now but we cannot consider them for the book to Marie’s family anymore as it has been printed by now.]

The Daily Roxette had one copy of the book printed early January 2020 and handed it over to Marie Dimberg, Roxette’s manager and a very good friend of Marie Fredriksson and her family, in Göteborg on January 20, 2020. The printed version of the book is nearly 800 pages thick and it has a white cover. Its title “Tack för allt Marie” (Thank you for everything Marie) is written in silver and red letters on its sleeve.
Here you see some quick photos of the book, sadly there has never been a chance to take proper photos of this one copy as it arrived just before the evening we headed to Göteborg for the “En kväll för Marie Fredriksson” show.

I am a very big fan of Roxette. Many people know that about me. Marie is the reason why I wanted to become a singer. Roxette was my childhood ... After school I went straight to my room to sing along with all of their songs. A few years ago I was able to see them live in Amsterdam, it was great! I was so sad to know about her health and unfortunately she is no longer here...RIP. A piece of my childhood went with her ... Thank you so much for the beautiful and inspiring songs you left behind. A lot of strength for the family, friends, millions of fans, for Per Gessle and the rest of the band. ❤️

It was my love at first “listening “. Her voice, her way to sing, the songs I’m never tired in listening. It was and will be still a part of my life. I even cut my hair in “Marie style” while I was a teenager. I had a copy band named Roxept. Everything in my life was influenced by her and Roxette songs. My condolences to her family. She will live forever in my heart.

Dear Roxette I find myself, like so many of your fans out there, deeply saddened by loss of Marie. As chance would have it I found out that I attended the last ever Roxette concert which was held in Cape Town. I feel strangely honoured to have been part of the last audience to see them live. I will cherish the memory forever. Marie, you will be missed. RIP!!!

I was 16 when I bought my very first CD. It was Roxette's. I was in USA and it helped me there. I'm so grateful I had the chance to see Marie live in Recife, Brazil. Unforgettable.

As I type this my mind is still trying to take the news of your passing in Marie. I've grown up on Roxette's music, that voice, those lyrics and riffs. A giant part of my childhood has now gone. I just want to say thank you for being an influence in my life for some 30 plus years. My tears have not stopped since I found out. Roxette's music spoke to me on so many different levels. From heart wrenching ballads that would give me strengh or make me cry, to happy go-lucky fun songs that cheered up the day. You had a song for every mood. In a day and age were bands and solo artists constantly push out the same depressing junk, it was just a breath of fresh air listening to your music. And it never got stale. It would speak to me, I could relate to it, it was a pick me up. Ever since I was a 12 year old in the late 80's I've listened to you and G's work. I thank you both, especially you Marie for those wonderful times. I' Rest in peace Marie, and thank you so so much for everything that you did for the fans. I'm grateful to be one of them. I'll never forget you, and you will live on in the hearts of those who love you. Sleep well xxx Mark
