Remembrance book for Marie Fredriksson
Dear fellow friends, dear fans of Marie Fredriksson, dear Roxette fans, dear kind people in this world,
our friend Marie has passed away on December 9, and many, many people in the world are heartbroken and would like to express their feelings. Not everyone can do so on the social media, not everyone can do so by coming to Sweden and signing the official remembrance book laid out in Stockholm.
We want to collect your thoughts, your grieve, but also your finest memories with Marie here. Please write down what you always wanted to say to her, we will collect each single entry of yours, put them into one single book and send it over to Marie’s family to show them how much she made this world better through you.
Thank you.
[All entries made before January 1, 2020 were taken over for the book. You will still be able to add your messages now but we cannot consider them for the book to Marie’s family anymore as it has been printed by now.]
The Daily Roxette had one copy of the book printed early January 2020 and handed it over to Marie Dimberg, Roxette’s manager and a very good friend of Marie Fredriksson and her family, in Göteborg on January 20, 2020. The printed version of the book is nearly 800 pages thick and it has a white cover. Its title “Tack för allt Marie” (Thank you for everything Marie) is written in silver and red letters on its sleeve.
Here you see some quick photos of the book, sadly there has never been a chance to take proper photos of this one copy as it arrived just before the evening we headed to Göteborg for the “En kväll för Marie Fredriksson” show.
If you are interested, you can download a simplified version (the printed version contains a few more blank pages to separate the chapters, for instance) of the book with all entries right here.
The entries are sorted alphabetically by names, this file is also searchable.
Entries with non-latin character sets are at the very end of the book. Most URLs have been removed as they make little sense in a printed book.
Cuando te fuiste se fue un trocito de mi. Te admiro. Eres maravillosa.
Roxette llenó mi vida con su música. Luchadora, tenaz, brillante...ÚNICA.
Brilla querida Marie. Brilla! Tq.

Thank you for the wonderful songs you have given me and the countless hours of joy listening to your beautiful voice. RIP Marie Fredrikson. Angels be your guide. From Turkiye with Love.....
When a Roxette song is on the radio it has the goose-bump effect. You know it. The hairs on your arms stand up. I have deafened passengers when driving. Turn up to 10, it’s roxette. If they don’t like it then they can walk. Thanks a ton for your music.
I grew up with Roxette's songs and Marie's voice. Thank you for the great moments that you gave us Marie. My condolences to her family and fans. What a big loss for us.

Since I was a teenager Roxette has always been my favorite "band". Today, twenty-five years later, I know Roxette was/is the most important and beloved band of my life and this will never change. Dear Marie, thank you for all those wonderful hours listening to you singing like a goddess. I'm proud being one of your greatest fans. See you in heaven, beautiful queen of rain. You always had the look.
Love,
Daniela
Tears run like rain now when I play your songs... I love how you combined natural elements with emotions and could bring such melanholic feelings in the songs. I've been listening to your music ever since my sister gave me a tape of roxette for my 8th birthday. I still thought I would see you live someday and regret that I haven't. Thank you an Per both...

Dearest Marie,
I was 13 yrs old when I 1st heard your music in the late 80s.
You have a special place in my heart as it was your wonderful voice and music with Roxette that was playing the night of my 1st "teen party" and my 1st teen dance with a girl. I have always been a fan and as far as i'm concerned, as far as Swedish POP music all time goes... There is ABBA and then there is you (Roxette).
Thank you for never giving up on your dreams and sharing your beautiful voice with the rest of the world. You will live forever in that regard. <3 Rest in peace...
I met Marie shortly when she visited a jazz club in Gothenburg many years ago. Completely starstruck
I only managed to ask her when the next recording would be released.(So stupid of me!) I don´t remember what she answered, and I regret that I didn´t gave her compliments for her great talent.
Now I want to express my great sadness, and declare that she was, and always
will be a bright shining star.

Amo Marie Fredriksson e sem dúvidas foi e sempre a melhor cantora que o mundo conheceu.
Ela me ensinou a dar valor a vida e nunca desistir dos meus sonhos.
Marie has been with me for most of my life, giving voice and music to unique and unrepeatable moments. I feel a great emptiness in my heart but I will always remember you as my queen and unique in transmitting those beautiful songs. We will miss you very much my diva.?
