Remembrance book for Marie Fredriksson
Dear fellow friends, dear fans of Marie Fredriksson, dear Roxette fans, dear kind people in this world,
our friend Marie has passed away on December 9, and many, many people in the world are heartbroken and would like to express their feelings. Not everyone can do so on the social media, not everyone can do so by coming to Sweden and signing the official remembrance book laid out in Stockholm.
We want to collect your thoughts, your grieve, but also your finest memories with Marie here. Please write down what you always wanted to say to her, we will collect each single entry of yours, put them into one single book and send it over to Marie’s family to show them how much she made this world better through you.
Thank you.
[All entries made before January 1, 2020 were taken over for the book. You will still be able to add your messages now but we cannot consider them for the book to Marie’s family anymore as it has been printed by now.]
The Daily Roxette had one copy of the book printed early January 2020 and handed it over to Marie Dimberg, Roxette’s manager and a very good friend of Marie Fredriksson and her family, in Göteborg on January 20, 2020. The printed version of the book is nearly 800 pages thick and it has a white cover. Its title “Tack för allt Marie” (Thank you for everything Marie) is written in silver and red letters on its sleeve.
Here you see some quick photos of the book, sadly there has never been a chance to take proper photos of this one copy as it arrived just before the evening we headed to Göteborg for the “En kväll för Marie Fredriksson” show.
If you are interested, you can download a simplified version (the printed version contains a few more blank pages to separate the chapters, for instance) of the book with all entries right here.
The entries are sorted alphabetically by names, this file is also searchable.
Entries with non-latin character sets are at the very end of the book. Most URLs have been removed as they make little sense in a printed book.
Your and Pärs voices and out-of-this-world-mood songs, were a great part of my youth back in the 80's and 90's! Going through sweden with the radio volume past the top...
Thank you Marie, for your voice, your personality - everlasting memories!
Unbelieavable your gone, but your music, your voice and person will live and be with us forever.
All my love to your family!

Sadly we only saw Rox once live, after the surgery she endured, but the passion, the vitality and desire to was oh so evident in you both. Maries voice, always such a pleasure. Sadly missed but never forgotten

I've listen to your music and your amazing voice Marie for years, you got my through heartbreak, love, and death, may your soul live on, heaven has gained a beautiful angel for gods choir RIP XXX
My wife and I shared our love of roxette, until she passed in July 88. Over the years, Roxette playing on the radio always reminded me of the love of my life. My heart was broken to learn of Marie's tumor and today i first learned of her her death. RIP

Thanks, Marie for the gift of your music, your voice and your artistry, which filled my years as a teenager and even after then. Thanks for giving a voice, along with Per Gessle to some of my experiences and feeling as I started to peer into life as an adult. Your music will always be part of my life and my memories. Rest in peace, surrounded by celestial light.

1989. I was 11 and I loved that girl's voice singing that "yeah-yeah-yeah"-intro on Dressed for Success. From those days on, Roxette became sort of the soundtrack of my teenage and early adult life.
Marie's superb voice was warm, familial, conforting...
Marie, you are cherished by a huge army of roxers, and in our hearts you will always be alive.
Rest in peace, queen of rain!

Мари ❤️. Вечная ей память, она единственная и неповторимая, спасибо за музыку! Она навсегда останется в наших сердцах! I love mari, eternal memory, thank you for the music, you will always remain in our hearts!
Still missing you Marie. Roxette was my favourite band when I was little. I would play your songs taped off the radio over and over. I’m so glad I got to see you in concert years later. Thank you for the music and the memories.

Dear Marie, My twin sister and I can't thank you enough for your music.
We first listened to the album, Crash! Boom! Bang!, when we were 12 years old.
Although we didn’t understand any single word of English then, we instantly fell in love with your voice and Per's music so much. We have listened to Roxette ever since. I mean our life can't be told without you, Marie. Thank you again. R.I.P.
