Barefoot and full of energy in Växjö

VÄXJÖ - Marie came out to a wave of cheers and applause as she entered the stage (barefoot) in Växjö on Saturday night - cheers that disappeared in an instant as soon as Marie began singing "Så stilla, så långsamt" with only Christoffer's acoustic guitar as her guide. So quiet that that you could literally hear a pin drop - every single person in the audience completely captivated by this amazing voice - fiercely strong, yet heart achingly vulnerable at the same time. From the very first note she sang until she left the stage, Marie had everyone's undivided attention. Nothing less than she deserved.

Marie took the time to thank the Roxette fans for coming along to the show – a comment which was met with loud cheers and a lot of clapping, particularly from the first three rows.

Fans rejoiced as she performed favourites such as "Så länge det lyser mittemot," "Den sjunde vågen" and "Om du såg mig nu." "Ännu doftar kärlek was," of course, another huge crowd pleaser. More unexpected tracks on the set list ("Det regnar igen" and "Ber bara en gång") made the show just that extra bit special - songs that I'm sure many fans thought they'd never get to experience live. Complete silence in the audience resumed when Marie started singing "Ett bord i solen." Many, many tears were shed at this point, and this moving song is an absolute testament to Marie's sheer strength and determination. The fact that she has the courage to stand in front of an audience and bare all is utterly inspiring. Moments like this make you remember exactly why you’re there in the first place.

As soon as "Efter stormen" started the crowd went wild, standing up and dancing the whole way through. The party then carried on during "Mellan sommar och höst," which made a re-appearance on the setlist after being skipped in Malmö (along with "Den bästa dagen"). Marie encouraged everyone to get back on their feet during "Tro," and a little wave of red hearts filled the front row - a simple, yet very effective way of thanking her for what was undoubtedly the best show of the tour so far.
