This one (among other fun expressions) is cool: ”99 percent of all other songwriters and singers – Gessle’s vocal voice may not be thought of, but it’s nice and strong like mustard and ketchup – would cut off their main G major middle finger to be able to write at least one of those songs.”

In this short PR video #PerGessle talks about his Nashville project, that he wanted a fusion between Halmstad and Nashville; he wanted to include the Nashville sound with all the instruments and the atmosphere itself; the lyrics and Per’s voice are in focus; he says there are duets on the albums and when there are 2 guys singing in a duet it’s a special thing; he has a partly new band on tour: a pedal steel player and violin player are in the band too; the songs in this arrangement would sound differently, mainly Roxette songs, for example, It Must Have Been Love with a violin or so; but he still has to think the whole thing through. /PP

Today it’s Record Store Day and on this occasion #PerGessle talks about one of his favourite records in a Göteborgs-Posten article about RSD and Bengans. /PP
PG: ”One of my favourite LPs is from a splendid pop year, 1968. The debut album of Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood turned hot on the gramophone at home in Halmstad and helped to create an alternative universe that felt as obvious as necessary. Summer Wine and Some Velvet Morning must be among the most beautiful songs written (listen especially to Billy Strange’s string arrangements!). And Nancy & Lee’s voices are both unique, sensual and cocky. All at once.”
