En vacker kväll finally hits the capital
STOCKHOLM – Gig #10 and at Stockholm’s zoo/outdoor museum Skansen. A gorgeous day, 24° C and sun.
By the time the concert started it had fallen to 18° maybe and slightly overcast. Still great weather for the concert. At this point we don’t have an attendance number, but it looked full. What does full mean? According to Skansen’s webpage, around 10,000, but probably more around 8,000 in reality.
As usual the band were in good spirits and performed more or less flawlessly, after a shaky start. Per goofed some lyrics in the opening song but it is hardly worth mentioning… Possibly they were nervous, because the second song was a little shaky too. After that they got into it and realized it was a concert, not a rehearsal!
Like the previous concerts, things start happening in the faster numbers, like “Juni, juli, augusti”/”Det hjärta som brinner” and later the bodypump pass starting with “Ljudet av ett annat hjärta” and ending with “The Look”. The audience really gets into gear for those. Obviously they like the slower numbers as well, but from the reactions it’s power-pop they long for! “Min plats” was again left out, but we did get “Tittar på dej när du dansar” instead. “Dressed for Success” seems permanently retired. Per chose from his 70,000 songs and wanted to play songs he’d never played live before, and realized he had 500 of those… No surprise to his audience!
Per introduced the band with his normal dating site story adding that he’d found Quincy, the drummer, when searching for “black gloves”… Would it be interesting or scary to see Per’s google history?

Chris absolutely shredded “När vi två blir en” as the intro for “The Look” this time. Anyway, there were no surprises, but the gig was solid nevertheless. One can’t really stop oneself from liking it.
“Sommartider” kicked butt once again. Oh and I don’t recommend walking around at Skansen for a few hours wearing new Nikes…
