Surely a highlight of the Roxette Catalogue? Performed on every Tour since ‘Join The Joyride‘, if we’re not mistaken? It’s a crowd pleaser.

A HUGE hit across the world, and yet another Billboard #2 in the US. Such a shame it didn’t reach #1, alas it peaked as did ‘Dangerous‘ not long before it. Kept off the top spot by the unstoppable ‘(Every Thing I Do) I Do It For You‘, by Bryan Adams. (Who also released an album called ‘Room Service‘ but that’s another story).

‘Fading‘ was written by Per in Canada. The demo was very different to the final album version, but all the ingredients were there for what became an amazing power-pop-ballad, accompanied with a glorious video featuring Stockholm’s beautiful scenery and old town. Link to the remastered video below.

In 1996, the track was one of many that were translated into Spanish for ‘baladas en español‘, ‘Fading Like A Flower‘ became ‘Soy Una Mujer‘, which in English translates to ‘I Am A Woman‘. Weird? This was then followed by the remix treatment in 2022 by Galantis.
