Silver Blue

Second of our ‘TOURISM’ era ‘imaginary’ singles, a firm fan favourite, ‘Silver Blue’…

How this was overlooked and never made it onto ‘Look Sharp!’ is mind-boggling, but just shows you the sheer quality and standard of the writing and recording of Per and co. To cut this, just shows you how much quality material they had at the time. Top notch stuff.

“There’s always songs that didn’t get the chance they deserved…
We played Silver Blue live on the last tour and we got a good response.
It’s a song that both of us really like a lot,
its beautiful, almost like a song from a movie”

Per Gessle, Talking About Tourism, 1992

‘Silver Blue’ first featured as b-side to ‘The Look‘, albeit in demo form. It was then picked up, updated and included on ‘TOURISM’, which is the version we probably all know best (not much differs to be honest, just added guitars basically and a bit of a ‘polish’).

We already had a promo video, shot during the Look Sharp Live! Tour at Borgholm Castle in Sweden, July 1989. Same shoot as ‘Listen To Your Heart‘ and ‘Dangerous‘. We recently talked about this one with Per during our ROX40 Interview. Perhaps this video was the result of b-roll footage.

Another oddity, as it wasn’t on the album, but got the promo video. Needless to say, it’s a firm favourite in the Roxette Catalogue.

It made its live comeback during Roxette’s live comeback and was a welcome surprise for the fans.
