The Daily Roxette presents ROX40
★ Monthly Mock-Ups! ★ May ★
We’re entering that “shoulda woulda coulda” imaginary space again. Only this time, Roxette are hitting the road with a World Tour that alas, didn’t happen…boo hiss boo! “Dream on, yesterday is gone…”
This is a very serendipitous one, as it ‘nicely’ follows the latest 40th Anniversary surprise releases – ‘The Have A Nice Day Demos‘ and ‘Have A Nice Day! Extended Version‘, here we have the perfectly themed/timed…
HAVE A NICE TOUR!

Picture it, 1999, Roxette have returned with album number six, their first in some five years, ‘HAVE A NICE DAY!‘
It’s an immediate hit, with the singles:
★ ‘Wish I Could Fly‘
★ ‘Anyone‘ / ‘Pay The Price‘ (in some regions)
★ ‘Stars‘
★ ‘Salvation‘.
Not all the singles we’d have picked, hey ho, but that’s another story.
The decision was made not to tour the album, instead, Roxette returned to the studio and recorded what would become ‘Room Service‘, released in 2001. A Tour thankfully followed that one, albeit a short one.
For our May Monthly Mock-Up, we present the HAVE A NICE TOUR!
An Exclusive Vinyl EP, Posters, Programme, Merchandise, the Setlist and Stage Designs. Oh it would have been marvellous!
What do you think the setlist could have been? See our take on it below, and of course a Spotify Playlist.
Our Mock–up Designs
As always, our mock-ups take the lead directly from the original album design. It was all very bright, neons, yellow, blue and pink.
‘Have A Nice Day!‘ was designed by Karl-Magnus Boske together with Roxette. Photographs were by the late great, Robert Nettarp, taken the one day our very ownThomas E wasn’t at work at Wenner-Gren Center in Stockholm (always makes me laugh). Look Robert’s work up, some amazing stuff.
The photoshoot is another stand-out amongst all the other albums. Would love to see more from it being released officially – again, tired of saying this but… A proper Roxette Photobook is long overdue now, alas it’s unlikely to happen as “too many photographers involved” according to Per during our recent ROX40 Interview, sigh.
The album cover was very bold in design, but the cover remains a puzzle. It’s certainly the weird one, but really cool at the same time? I don’t quite understand the children being there, are they supposed to be young versions of Marie and Per? I think we need to revisit the interviews around that time to remind ourselves the story behind it.
The album was a welcome return too, some all time favourites featured, including ‘7Twenty7‘, ‘You Can’t Put Your Arms Around What’s Already Gone‘, ‘Crush On You‘, ‘Beautiful Things‘ and personal favourite, ‘Staring at the Ground‘.
Hopefully HAVE A NICE DAY! will get the 30th Anniversary treatment when we hit 2029, as there’s an awful lot sat waiting in The Roxette Vault, but again, that’s another story for another time.
We were however recently treated to the previously unreleased ‘The Monk Version‘ of ‘Wish I Could Fly‘ which is an eerie but super cool take on the classic, as well as some previously unheard demos from the era like ‘A Girl Like You‘ and ‘Only When I Dream‘ – very ABBA–ish, no?
We do love it when The Roxette Vault is opened. More to come in 2026 too.
The HAVE A NICE STAGE!
Taking our cue from the ‘Have A Nice Day!‘ and ‘Wish I Could Fly‘ sleeves – the ‘wonky window’ becomes the moving LED screen.

Lots of neon, but minimal, letting the screen graphics do all the heavy lifting. One thing that’s always frustrated me about the Rox Tours – the lack of a really good backdrop, i.e. an LED screen. Roxette have so much video material that they could be using, although seeing the South American leg they did look a lot better. I suppose using the videos though would cost?

The HAVE A NICE PROGRAMME! (including the SETLIST)
We opened up our own TDR Archives for this one!

The HAVE A NICE MERCHANDISE!
Who doesn’t love the Merchandise on Tour? We love it! Well, as long as it’s good quality (and not too expensive).
Here’s some very quickly designed Merch…
I’ll take a Crush On You T-shirt, a Yellow Hoodie, a Programme, a Vinyl, both Posters and a Mug. Thanks!
The HAVE A NICE EP!
We couldn’t not have a VINYL! Designed to reflect the ‘HAVE A NICE DAY!‘ album, and more so the ‘WISH I COULD FLY‘ single sleeve.
Here’s a closer look at the Exclusive Vinyl EP, sold during the HAVE A NICE TOUR!
Contains 8 Previously Unreleased tracks, and spooky that this was designed back in February 😉
