Roxette’s world hit interpreted by Age of Days

The rock band Age of Days started in 2005 and they have since released three albums, of which their second album Hollywood Ending was praised at the Canadian Radio Music Awards for “Best New Group (Rock)” after the band’s “Afflicted” radio #1.

Age of Days have been touring with giants like Papa Roach, Disturbed, Buckcherry and Halestorm to name but a few.

Now they are back with a modern rock version of Roxette’s worldhit “The Look,” the first single from the upcoming album. The single is co-produced by Brian Howes and Jason “JVP” Van Peoderooyen, who previously worked with Airbourne, Skillet and Hinder.

“We started talking about doing this song after our tour with Disturbed and Saint Asonia, we’ve always been a fan of Swedish music, I grew up listening to my parents ABBA records and always been a fan of great songwriters. I think Sweden has some of the best in the world, including Per Gessle, of course. I remember when Roxette’s Look Sharp! came out I almost wore out the CD. So, for our version to be heard in Sweden is a massive honor and very exciting”, says singer Tim Morrison.

The only thing missing was a female vocalist to cover Marie Fredriksson’s parts of the song, where Heidi Shepherd from Butcher Babies became an obvious choice.

“We just knew we needed the right female vocals for it to really work. Heidi nailed it.” adds bassman Matt McLaughlin.

Age of Days are currently in Canada and are preparing the still untitled album to be released later this year. The band also plans an upcoming tour in Europe where Sweden is on the list.
