Marie's 60 for 60. #15 Så skimrande var aldrig havet ( The ocean was never as lustrous) Evert Taube (1890-1976) was Sweden's national poet of his time although he was never happy with that reputation, as he mastered so many other arts in his life. His poem Så skimrande var aldrig havet from 1946 is sung beautifully here by Marie, the first one and a half minutes even a capella. "The ocean was never as lustrous/and the beach never as liberating/the fields, the meadows, the trees never as beautiful/and the flowers never as lovely fragrant/as when you walked by my side/towards the sunset/the beautiful evening/where your locks hid me to the world/while you drowned all my sorrows/darling in your first kiss" #marie60 http://www.dailyroxette.com/sa-skimrande-var-aldrig-havet/
