The Joyride to New Zealand and 2015…

It’s less than a month to go before Roxette re-boot their mammoth XXX World Tour and the first stop on their 2015 global jaunt is Auckland New Zealand on February 7th at the Vector Arena. This will mark show #16 on their itinerary, which began back in Russia on the 28th of October 2014.

As The Daily Roxette previously discussed, this will be the very first time that Roxette will perform in New Zealand. Their previously scheduled 2012 show was cancelled due to Per’s illness but as promised, the band are making it up to their Kiwi fans.

It’s incredible to think that on the 7th of May 1989, “The Look” hit the top of New Zealand’s Singles Charts and some 25 years after that feat and decades after their commercial peak, only now in 2015 will Roxette perform in New Zealand. A true testament to the band’s enduring success. Often, Roxette fans around the world complain that their country is  overlooked or forgotten but when you put yourself in the shoes of a Roxette fan from New Zealand, you really start to appreciate their situation – so hopefully this special visit will make up for a lot of lost years.

Also, the 2015 incarnation of the XXX Tour will see a brand new stage and set design and Auckland will see the launch of this new feature.

Following their historic show in Auckland, Roxette will then fly across the Tasman to begin their Australian leg of the tour by kicking things off in Brisbane on the 10th of February at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

Roxette’s Brisbane show will be the first of nine concerts scheduled for their Australian Tour.

Finally, it won’t be long before Roxette begin rehearsals for their upcoming shows and judging by the feedback and comments during The Daily Roxette’s recent “Ghost Tracks” series, it seems that the fans are overwhelmingly desperate to hear 1999 electro-pop favorite, “Crush On You” added to the 2015 set list – is it time to start an online campaign? #crushlive2015

Hopefully there’s still some time to try it out in rehearsals before they head Down Under! Fingers crossed!

In the mean time, for all your Australian and New Zealand ticketing needs, head over to Live Nation for more information and of course, keep checking The Daily Roxette for all the latest tour news and reviews in 2015!

Mmm, not really fussed about hearing Crush On You live again in 2015, sorry.

You must be one of the lucky ones that got to see the Room Service tour. It’s never been played live apart from then, so I think it’d be nice to blow the dust of that one.

Yeah no you’re right Thomas, why play COY live? Let them play 727 again we haven’t heard that one enough 😉 Seriously though how can you not want to hear it live? Each to their own I guess!
