Roxette arrives in South Africa for seven concerts

Roxette has always enjoyed great success in South Africa, a country with strong ties to the Netherlands where Roxette also has a large fan base. So it’s not a huge surprise that six of the upcoming concerts are either sold out or almost sold out. There will be three concerts in Cape Town (at the Grand Arena, with a capacity for 7,000 people), and four in Sun City (at the Superbowl, which holds up to 10,000).

The first show will take place tomorrow (Sunday, May 8) and the last on May 17.

On Roxette’s Facebook page, they reported: Landed in South Africa! Great place. “I was here two years ago with friends enjoying the lions,” says Per. “My daughter puked on the carpet in this very hotel,” says Marie. She was three! Seven great concerts to come, y’all!

Taking advantage of the spike in interest that having Roxette in their country will create, EMI South Africa has launched a “tour version” of the latest CD+DVD compilation “The Collection of Roxette Hits – Their 20 Greatest Songs!”.
