Remembrance book for Marie Fredriksson
Dear fellow friends, dear fans of Marie Fredriksson, dear Roxette fans, dear kind people in this world,
our friend Marie has passed away on December 9, and many, many people in the world are heartbroken and would like to express their feelings. Not everyone can do so on the social media, not everyone can do so by coming to Sweden and signing the official remembrance book laid out in Stockholm.
We want to collect your thoughts, your grieve, but also your finest memories with Marie here. Please write down what you always wanted to say to her, we will collect each single entry of yours, put them into one single book and send it over to Marie’s family to show them how much she made this world better through you.
[All entries made before January 1, 2020 were taken over for the book. You will still be able to add your messages now but we cannot consider them for the book to Marie’s family anymore as it has been printed by now.]
The Daily Roxette had one copy of the book printed early January 2020 and handed it over to Marie Dimberg, Roxette’s manager and a very good friend of Marie Fredriksson and her family, in Göteborg on January 20, 2020. The printed version of the book is nearly 800 pages thick and it has a white cover. Its title “Tack för allt Marie” (Thank you for everything Marie) is written in silver and red letters on its sleeve.
Here you see some quick photos of the book, sadly there has never been a chance to take proper photos of this one copy as it arrived just before the evening we headed to Göteborg for the “En kväll för Marie Fredriksson” show.
If you are interested, you can download a simplified version (the printed version contains a few more blank pages to separate the chapters, for instance) of the book with all entries right here.
The entries are sorted alphabetically by names, this file is also searchable.
Entries with non-latin character sets are at the very end of the book. Most URLs have been removed as they make little sense in a printed book.

I lost and found myself listening to your songs day and night from the window of my lonely bedroom. You gave me all the solitude, love, care and attention no one else bothered to give to me. You ARE and WILL FOREVER live in MY HEART <3

Hi Marie Roxette war ein Teil meiner Generation und Du / Ihr habt Sie mit geprägt unvergessen "It must benn...... Love
When I say that I found out this year that you (Marie) passed away a while back, my heart just dropped and my eyes could not stop crying. Your music touched soo many. Many you Rest In Heaven with the Angels.
Marie…I love you and miss you everyday I’m a young fan I’m in my teens now, my mum was a teen when Roxette was at its peak and I’m so happy I got to hear Joyride, it must have been love and of course listen to your heart, can’t believe you’ve been gone nearly 2 years wasn’t that long before my birthday 🙁 thank you Marie for the music and of course Per, Roxette <3
My entry comes so late, basically because a few days ago I heard "It must have been love" at the radio, and suddenly I was hit by all the memories of my teen years.
Marie, your voice was the voice of most of my emotions, my feelings, my thoughts that I was not able to speak about.
Your body has passed away since almost 2 years but your voice will last forever in my soul.
Thank you Marie, thank you Roxette.
Спасибо за незабываемые песни! Светлая память! RIP
You was the music of my life. Silver Blue ... forever!
About a year ago I found myself singing a bit of the song "Dressed for Success." I hadn't heard the song in years, and proceeded to watch it many times on Youtube. Since then, I've watched and listened to most of Roxette's great songs, which I grew up listening to. I was very sad to find out about Marie's passing. She had incredible gifts - not only her amazing voice, but her energy, passion, and stage presence shine through as well. A true star, and will continue to shine.
In Liebe Tamara
I've been listening to Roxette songs since 1994. Roxette - the best for my life!
Morro de SAUDADES de você! Te amo eternamente!!!!
Haiku for Marie Fredriksson
Marie lives in us
Forever beautiful dove
God loves her singing
I love your music, songs ! Marie, rest in peace. With love, from Russia !
A star never dies; it just transforms its light to eternity, I grow up listening to your incredible songs with your angelical voice, and even today, as of July 2021, I still listen to your songs, Rest in Peace.
I was very sad when I read about the passing of Marie Fredriksson. Before the word 'diva' became such a derogatory term in the American vernicular, Marie personified the original definition by her impassioned expressive emotive singing. In other words, she was one of the BEST in the business.. She and Per made a wonderful team together, not only was the music great but it proved that simple basic pop-rock can truly be FUN and catchy, not banal, pedestrian and dumb. Roxette has enriched my life since my college days and their songs are truly uplifting and they still matter and say something to me about my life. They remind me of such good times.
'Dangerous' takes me back to when the Eighties turned to the Nineties and the Cold War ended peacefully, as a recently discharged military.veteran who had served during the Cold War that point in time was historical and its lyrical theme of male affirmation in resisting temptation meant a lot to me when I was younger. It's mature. And 'It Must Have Been Love' is one of my alltime favorite ballads, Marie's singing really shines on that one! Wow.
Roxette is one of those unique bands where their whole catalog is good. They never made a bad album and their music has always been a pleasure to listen to. Per is a terrific musician and songwriter of his own merit but Marie is as well and the two together made the greatest pop-rock band Sweden has ever produced. And their music is entertaining to this day. God Bless You Marie, R.I.P. and thank you Per as well. You will not be forgotten. ROXETTE FOREVER
