Per goes from Roxette to Gyllene in a heartbeat?
Today in 2013 Gyllene Tider started their monumental tour “GT2013 – Dags att tänka på refrängen.” 19 gigs all over Sweden which blew away the rest of that summer’s competition.
In Gyllene’s heydays, 1979-1982 they toured every year, almost constantly, ending it in 1984 with the winter tour “Heartland.” After that nothing happened, since Gyllene broke up in 1985, until 1995 when Gyllene very reluctantly played the now legendary Stora Torg gig in Halmstad, which incidentally was on July 1, 1995. This gig made the “Återtåget ’96” tour possible. Eight short years later Gyllene put their boots on, rolled up their sleeves and recorded the album Finn 5 fel! and went on another gigantic tour – “GT25” – since it was their 25th anniversary, counting from the first single “Flickorna på TV2.” After that tour, which seemed rather infected at least from reading Swedish media, no one believed Gyllene would do another tour.
But then again in 2013 Gyllene put their differences aside, recorded another mega-selling album Dags att tänka på refrängen and went on the road. Once again there were sold out concerts and sing-along galore. The year ended with a live DVD recorded in Skövde.
So what’s all this you say? Well, Per was reminiscing on Facebook the other day, hinting at another Gyllene tour coming up. Nonsense you think. Yes probably, and we agree. Roxette being on tour right this moment, and with plans on touring until 2016. But Per Gessle don’t rest. Nosir. Per needs his adrenaline. So what if he just changes his shoes and guitar and picks up Syd and the rest of the golden 5 and goes straight into the Swedish summer? Stranger things have happened. After all, this is the man who said “…there’s so much you have no idea about…” And Micke Syd told The Daily Roxette this spring that he would love to play South America.
