Per preparing new Roxette album, and solo album!

Per is currently writing songs for a forthcoming Roxette album, revealed Aftonbladet in today’s edition. So far, five or six songs are ready and more are coming. During Christmas, he’s going to record demos in Halmstad and in the spring Marie will join him to record the final versions. “After that, we’ll see. But I hope we would be able to release the album during the next year,” he says.
Per has planned that Roxette’s tour would continue in the autumn of 2002. “There are places we didn’t visit this year: Ireland, Italy, South Africa, Asia… it’s a big world,” Per says.
After the tour, Per would like to release a new solo album. “I have so much Swedish material lying around. I haven’t recorded much of it, but there are a lot of songs,” he says. “There will be a day when we choose to take a break from Roxette again. And I miss communicating in Swedish. So, there will certainly be an album.”

I don’t really believe in this,,, complete new album next spring,, or next year... NO!,, that wont happen, perhaps a Tourism like one,,, I’d rather see a new solo album than a new Roxette one, coz a new roxette one wouldn’t be very succesfull,, I’m sorry to say-

Well, for me... I’d love to have a roxette album as well as a solo album by per or marie (or both) and a 2-year roxette tour with gyllene tider as supporting act... ;o) I know, I know it won’t happen but it’s x-mas soon so I can at least have some wishes!

I think they should collect more material before recording a new album. Spring seems very early. It’s to soon to predict when the new album will come out. Until now it always took them longer to release a new album then they said before. So I don’t expect the new one until 2003.

Marie writing half the songs for any Rox album? No, I don’t think so (and hope not either). I love Marie, she’s got a beautiful voice and is very nice to meet in person. However, the best Rox songs are written by Per, no contest. If you like Marie’s style, you should buy all of her solo albums. Besides, she has said herself that she doesn’t feel that comfortable writing lyrics in English.

well she doesn’t have to write it BY HERSELF (and I would recommend Per collaborate too)...you have Per, her friends....and guess what? You can write a song in Swedish, translate it to English and sing it!!
Roxette has more than TWO members!!
You have the instrument players!! I am sure a hit (or way better songs) could be done with them...most songs are done with collaborations :).
Why do you think most people were annoyed with Stars, The Centre of The Heart, and Real Sugar?
Na na na na na na all in there, and “Bye bye baby bye bye baby bye bye” (for Real Sugar) reminds me of Nsync and 1940s music!!
NYWS I am not saying those songs were bad (in fact I like them), but they have MAJOR problems (and Per said that he perfered other songs...when someone asked him why couldn’t he write better songs like IMHBL, LTYH, etc instead of Real Sugar, TCOTH, etc) that would have been fixed by collaborations (in my opinion).

PerFanatic: no flames from me, although I’m more a MarieFanatic. In Swedish Marie composes brilliant songs, but in English is’t only a sorry attempt. The music is good, but the lyrics are too simple. Even compared to Pers lyrics :) Maybe Marie should keep on delivering music to Pers lyrics. Watercolours in the rain is still one of my favorites!
