Roxette slated to appear at charity concert for terrorism victims

BERLIN - UPDATED German newspaper Berliner Zeitung reports that Roxette will perform at a charity gala for the victims of international terrorism in Berlin. The show, called “New York, New York,” will be Thursday, October 11th, starting at 9 pm CET. This is exactly one month from the now infamous 9.11.01 date.
Other artists set to perform include Patricia Kaas, Nena, BAP, Sarah Brightman, Corinna May and Howard Carpendale.
Update: According to our user Sandra, EMI Electrola (the German branch of EMI) has denied that Roxette would appear at the gala. A spokesperson at EMI Svenska confirmed that regretably, Roxette would not be there. (roxeteer, Oct 11)

I guess they will sing “Milk And Toast And Honey”. It’s their current single and another chance to push it a bit higher in the charts.

I think they shouldn’t play they current single as this could easily leave a bitter aftertaste (causing the impression, Rox are trying to profit out of the current situation). Rather they should play a classic ballad (QOR would fit perfectly, also Things will never be the same or I don’t want to get hurt and YDUM).

Here will be my question: Is there gonna be like a CD of this performance like one from when folks did one here shortly after the attack? (Hollywood actors and musicians got together and it was aired on ABC, NBC, and CBS). I’d really like that because I’m a fan of Roxette AND Sarah Brightman.

Roxette canceled theire performance on Charity-Gala “New York, New York”. The Information was broadcasted a few minutes ago - i turned the TV OFF!!!! The reason: At the moment, they won´t go by airplain, because it is to DANGEROUS !!! :(((
