Swedish electronic poptrio Zeigeist releases “Neverending Love” EP
Written by tomos85 on February 10, 2009 to Music Business.
Taken from http://www.zeigeist.eu/:
"During the past years, we have put more and more love into Zeigeist, fed her like the Queen she have been. At the end of the day, she has demanded all love within us. We have our personal reasons to kill her.
The release of our next single/EP, "Neverending Love," a cover of Roxette's first single, our first cover, will be moved to tomorrow (5th Feb). The EP also contains "Chasing your shadow all around the world" and a remix of "Humanitarianism" by the Twelves. With this EP, we call it a day. This is the end of Zeigeist. The Queen is dead.
So we raise our glasses, make a toast, a toast in your honor, and tell you this: The search continues. We're going to find out about the Never. Ending. Love.
With thanks to all our fans
ZEIGEIST"
The tracklist:
1. Neverending Love
2. Chasing Your Shadows All Around the World
3. Humanitarianism (The Twelves Remix)

^^It is to those of us who didn’t know about it!
This must be the first-ever cover of Neverending Love - ironic to end your career on the song that began someone else’s.

Thanx for the news Tomo.

The Neverending Love cover is really nice I think! Also some of the others songs are very nice indeed! :)

Cheap copy of Erasure?! It has much more to do with The Knife or Familjen-styles (both acts come from Sweden and are well-know on synthelectronic scene) than with this British new wave duo. Zeitgeist is another good exemple of how Swedish music is popular in the world, just visit their myspace or last.fm profiles. I really like their version - almost as much as the orginal ;)

I quite like it - not bad at all actually :-)

by the way - it should’ve been “Zeitgeist” with “s” in the title of this article ;)

Some sort of strange mix between Robyn, The Cardigans and an 80’s computer game.

And it’s not the duo but a trio of Maria, Per and Mattias ;)

Of course this is news... well done Tomos for providing such a news article... I love this version! Possibly the best Roxette cover I have heard :) Anyone know where can buy and download it legally... thanks!

I like their intention. The music sounds awesome, and some effects are pretty cool. But the singing is just plain crap and is not mixed well - it doesn’t gel with the music. It sounds separate/isolated and cheap. If it would have been with Marie and Per’s voice with this backing music it could have been totally awesome.

Am I the only one in the whole wide world who has absolutely no idea who Zeitgeist is?? How do they relate to Roxette (if at all) apart from the cover of NEL? Cheers!

No, I had never heard about them either. :) Too electronic for me though.

i actually quite like it. I’m into the electro sound quite a bit. There was a movement a few years back called ElectroLash which was cool.
