A positive and instant radio approach. The radios are playing what the listeners might want to hear. Don't you think? Sales cannot compare with sales in Germany, but club-life here is able to compete with any other from anywhere in the world! Besides, the need of getting a top, famous, artist playing live in a club over here it's really high!

not listed on the first website at all, on the 2nd one it looks like it is just a local station. Maybe the webmaster of www.roxette.ro owns the station. We’ll probably find out soon if the station has an exclusive interview with marie’s wardrobe assistant from the joyride tour

and? has the fact that is is only a local station changed since then? not according to their own site! According to their website they are based in Campina (population of 38,000)broadcast in the following areas:
în Ploiesti, pe 95,9 FM
- în Târgoviste, pe 88,7 FM
- în Câmpina, pe 103,2 FM
- în Slobozia, pe 92,9 FM
- în Snagov, pe 103,1 FM
They are all in prahova county, which as you can see from the map is just a small area of the country

The county has a total population of just less than 1 million people, so even though it is not a national station it could still be newsworthy, but that would also depend on just how popular that station is within the county. I may be wrong of course, but the impression I have from looking at the website, the playlist and the fact of the town it is based in, I dont think it is a very big radio station.

TDR ran a story much like this one a few years back, then about a German “really big and important” radio station. Turned out it was not big nor important... Don’t want that to happen again.

I wonder if this was number one on a Hamburg radio station it would be important to you?. Ploiesti is a very important city and it;s very near to the capital. And i still am amazed that Per get there at number one with no intervention what so ever from us. I only found out this afternoon, so it;s important that not from us the word got out. Must have been some DJ who liked Per song from other radio station, who knows? The history repeats itself. If it was a minimum publicity of the album here, or at least the single there should have been a greater thing. I wonder why they don’t bother? I do get the feeling from this site that eastern Europeans are defending themselves too much in front of all of the other from this forum.

Not all the fans are willing to write on a forum, and i don’t see many polish fans or from other country being very active either on this forum.

C’mon guys... “Silly Really” wasn’t even released here, no promo copies sent here and there, no EMI to care about and so on, and it still got the attention of some radio people, same thing in the States back then.
Besides, “Prahova Valley”, it’s Romania’s main touristical attraction, (Dracula’s Castle nearby for example).

Those days when Roxette or Per got unlimited funds in order to do promotion / record an album have gone for good. Nowadays, he records “Mazarin” for example in that low-budget Aerosol Grey Machine Studio, he makes a high income out of it and reinvests it in the SOAP project targeting an international market with good sales and chart results. Which is obviously at a higher cost than promoting only in Sweden. The same with En Handig Man, where the money out of it goes in the “Party Crasher” project with a small (and less risky) club tour this time. The next thing will be again a swedish project, most likely GT 30, after that the Roxette project (hoepfully) which consumes the highest energies and resources.
Promotion is necessary, but not vital in order to get profitable. Example: Innsbruck, Austria, 2001, only 1500 (!) people attented the show, where at the time EMI Austria had a priority on Roxette.
And especially if you’re doing just a club thing with an average attendance of around 1500 ppl / show. When you do a club tour your approach is different than doing a regular one targeting a slightly higher attendance.
In Romania, Roxette is a well-known and radio-friendly band, with very low album sales. But club-life is over-top. In other words: no sales, but good profit, since there is a high interest for seeing a famous artist playing live.

Sorry, but SOAP (even if supposed to be international) didn’t sell or chart so good outside of Sweden. As long as I know, the album didn’t chart in any other country. The singles had the same fate.

i dont think per cares about the money that much, he has all kinds of scrilla! its about the love of the game. i just whish hed rip out the gretsh white, falcon 2, chet atkins, bryan setzer, sparkle jet and the rickenbacker 360 jet glow and 330 burgandy and make a guitar drivin album that leaves me with that magical feelng deep in my guts thats been missing since parts of f5f!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Party crasher becomes a great success in Australia, Spain and all other countries I’m sure he will make the tour longer, as he said he might. Now it is a european tour, but who knows, maybe he will tour the world in the fall, we’ll just have to wait and see how Party crasher is doing around the world.

I think you misunderstood my comment. What I was saying is that Per makes more income out of his swedish stuff and so a substantial part of it is being injected into the international projects. Whenever Per goes internationally he has to secure his budget, ’cos there’s no EMI anymore backing and funding him like in the good old days. That’s why he has to release swedish stuff in the first place, with a good turnover, in order to avoid the risks of going worldwide.
SOAP was a flop and Party Crasher might be a flop as well, but he cannot afford to be a flop as a businessman. And that’s what Per is nowadays, a successful businessman...
