What’s the purpose of the clickable date on the posts?

I wonder about it too,but didn’t dare to ask ...

Using that anchor, it’s possible to link directly to a specific comment in the discussion.

Of course, there is no difference as long as you give examples from this very topic. The date anchors shall give you the opportunity to link to certain posts. The page will then be scrolled so that this post appears on top of the page. Which does not work when the page is too short to be scrolled, just like here.

Try these two examples instead (from the longer “Rules” topic) to figure out the difference:

http://www.dailyroxette.com/node/14832#comment-248437

The other thing is that now you are able to save this certain link in your favourites folder of your browser and you will find it back even when the moderators might have moved the post to another topic.

It’s the same function as over (t)here at the Gessle (SOAP) forum.

Keep on thinking.
