Bad Hair Day strikes back

STOCKHOLM - Per's latest little project Bad Hair Day has struck again! This time Per wants to present his fans with a little Valentine's Day gift, so he has "released" a "single" consisting of the only two Son of a Plumber demos ever recorded.
Per presents it himself like this:
St Valentine’s day, Feb 14 – 2006
Friends… let’s celebrate this wonderful and important day with some new jolly music! The only two existing Son of a Plumber-demos are at your service!!
I started working on “I like it like that” with some, quite annoying, drum-loop in mind. It all put me in a somewhat bad mood. Drum-grooves usually do! However I really adored the song and did an acoustic version the very same day at the Tits&Ass studio. Here it is! I think I’ve changed the lyrics a bit along the way.
“Something in the system” was a slight mistake so I didn’t want to use it at all. I never really liked it, dunno why. But when the medley-idea came up (I guess it was Clarence’ brilliant brain at work!!) I thought it would fit quite well. Shorter, more in-your-face, like a nice little bridge between “Double-headed Elvis” and “Speed boat to Cuba”. This is how it sounded when it was born.
So how come these are the only two existing Son of a Plumber-demos? Well, neither one of them were intended for the project! Both of them were recorded in January 2002 and at the time, of course, the S.O.A.P.-beast wasn’t even invented! So these tunes were written for the Roxette compilations, Ballad Hits & Pop Hits. In the same four-week period I did demos for “A thing about you” and “Breathe” as well. There you go!

Something In The System demo is much better than SOAP version to me. Demo is much Roxettish, better sound, more energy, and chorus is simply great. Album version is too simply and flat and this is the problem with whole SOAP to me. This looks how Mr. G can do the same song in different ways. Need new Rox.
Well, Per must love us. Bad Hair Days is fantastic idea. Thank you Per.
PS: Something In The System is really cooooooooool. Hope for new Roxette CD present this or next year. When I heard SITS demo for the first time, it was like new singl from Roxette. I miss them so much.....

Something In The System is really great! I absolutely love it. I hope Per will release this demoversion on a future Roxalbum:)
Also I like the demo of I Like It Like That a little better than the album version because it has more lyrics.
Does anybody know why Per left out a couple of really beautiful sentences on the album version?

Hmm, Something in the System sounds like Joyride-times. Ok its a demo, but nice.
And ILILT sounds good too, especially the 4th verse, which isn´t on the soap album. But most of the old lyrics sounds cheap. Good choice to rewrite the song.

Wow, I have yet to download these demos. Per sure knows how to treat his fans. Thanks a lot! ’I Like it Like That’ is my favourite song from SOAP and is not surprising it is a Roxette demo.

@abysmo: You wrote about the Stars-Demo. As Per ones told Stars was written as a “Guitar-Song”! So that would be really interesting. It´s always interesting what you can do with a song...

Yes, I know that Per talks about it. I´ve heard 727 crashing guitars demo and it´s fab. Absolutely different than album version. Both versions are great, no matter if it´s guitars or synths, it´s all about melody and arrangies. COY, Stars, TCOTH and ON are really danceble and really great songs, so it would be great to hear the demos and find the differences.
