The Man, the Myth, the MP

GÄVLE – 8,600 souls came to Gasklockorna in Gävle last night – a night with perfect concert weather. The concert itself was basically identical to the one in Stockholm a few days earlier, only of course outdoors. The differences were that the audience seemed a bit older, and not as intoxicated as in Stockholm, so less jumping around, and also the band seemed even more amped! MP was so high on adrenaline he was adding twists and turns to almost each and every song with a mischievous smile. Even “Flickan i en Cole Porter-sång” got a Spanish little touch. It seemed most appreciated by the band members. Per was grinning like a fool at times. The favorite songs in Gävle were “Leva livet,” “Gå & fiska!” and of course “Sommartider.”

The sound this evening was much better than in Stockholm, although I’ve heard complaints about the sound being fairly bad front and center. It was great where I was standing at any rate. Tomorrow gig #15 in Sundsvall.

The Daily Roxette got to meet, and photograph, the meet & greet winners this time as well. Gyllene as well as the winners looked very pleased to meet each other. There were Spaniards, Argentinians and a German present and also locals who had won their meet & greet in the Gävle Dagblad.

Number of times “Demon Emptiness” has been played: 0.
