Gothenburg – July 24th.  Is it 2011 or 2015? After playing the same venue 4 years ago to the exact same day, Roxette made a triumphant return to the stage at the lovely Slottsskogvallen.

According to an article in today’s Göteborgs-Posten, there was just over 15,000 fans at the gig. How was the gig? Great as always! How was the crowd? Well, it took a while for the Swedish audience to warm up, but by ‘How Do You Do!’ (this song again) they were singing along.

But the highlight for me happened before the show – I was lucky enough to meet Per at a private Meet and Great backstage. I’ve met Per before but never ‘1-to-1’ like this and I can say that he is a really friendly, down to earth guy. Although I wasn’t keen on the sticky hand from the honey… I will say no more.

Unfortunately there wasn’t time for TDR Meets Per Round 4 as the show was due to start only 20 minutes after our meet.

The intro music must have been turned up louder than normal at this show – it was that loud people around me jumped! The band tore through the usual set list.  Tonight, ‘Crush On You’ sounded amazing but, again, the highlight of the gig was ‘Listen To Your Heart’ – Marie delivered the big finish with such power.  Another thing to point out – I’m sure I heard a little bit of ‘Sommartider’ at the start of ‘She’s Got Nothing On’…

Because of the M&G I thought it would be good reason to experience the show from further back and not be in the front row.  The sound is definitely better, but the audience are not into it as much.  During ‘Watercolours/Paint’ there was so much talking going on around me that it was difficult to hear Marie singing at one point.  That’s the only really negative thing to report on.
