“Addeboy vs Cliff” to inject fresh blood!
As it has been hinted for many months now, Roxette have collaborated with some new producers for their upcoming studio album to be released before Christmas this year.
In a brand new Billboard interview, Per Gessle has revealed that one of the new artists involved in helping Roxette find a new sound for 2015 are Swedish act Addeboy vs Cliff who are also responsible for the soon-to-be-released The Look 2015 Remake. Addeboy vs Cliff are in real life Andreas Broberger and Hannes Lindgren, both hailing from northern Swedish town Umeå.
Here is an excerpt from the Billboard.com interview and report with Per Gessle regarding the new album:
“All the material is written and we have a few backing tracks left to do,” says Gessle. “It’s 75 percent done. We will release a single later this year and the album will come out before or just after Christmas. We’re producing ourselves, but Addeboy vs Cliff are involved on a few songs, as well as other producers. I’m extremely happy with it so far, and I guess it will surprise a few people.”
Addeboy vs Cliff found success in 2009 with their EDM hit “Beep My Beep”.
Most recently, Addeboy vs Cliff have produced the new Say Lou Lou album Lucid Dreaming. The entire album is available on YouTube.
However, Addeboy vs Cliff are not the only new names to be involved in the production process, Per confirmed that there are other yet-to-be-named producers involved in the making of the new album along with their traditional team of Clarence Öfwerman and Christoffer Lundquist who at this stage appear to be the main producers.
“With every album/project, I try to change one ‘important’ person, just to make everyone, myself included, stand on our toes. I always welcome change if it’s the right reason. In this particular case, new blood definitely needed to be injected everywhere. As always, we wanted to produce it ourselves so as to not lose control, but we needed a fresh start and a different angle.”
The still unnamed lead single, album and producers shall all be revealed, as Per would say, “soon” – in the mean time, all eyes and ears await July 17th’s release of the new The Look 2015 project. And of course there will be a 7″ vinyl out August 26. The other single will be released late summer/fall.
